Blake Lively is feeling very excited for the premiere of Ryan Reynolds’ new movie,  Free Guy  , and trust us: you need to see how the former  Gossip Girl actress  supports her other half.

The  Gossip Girl alum  caused a stir with her latest post shared to Instagram Stories, and of course, it had everything to do with  the Free Guy star  and her husband of nearly 10 years, Ryan. In the snap shared on August 12, the 33-year-old actress donned a light-colored patterned two-piece bikini while showing off her beach-ready backside. Alongside the can’t-miss photo, Blake proved she can know a thing or two about puns, writing, “Go see @freeguymovie this weekend or you’ll be bummed out.” And for some extra flair, Blake also added a gif of her other half making a very shocking facial expression.

Fans of the couple will know that the two are always willing to support each other in the best (often the most hilarious or cheeky) way possible. Case in point: When the couple, who share three daughters together —  James  , 6,  Inez  , 4, and  Betty  , 1 — hit the red carpet premiere of  Free Guy  in New York City on Aug. 3, Ryan took the opportunity to jokingly let the world know that the movie wasn’t the only thing being celebrated that night.  

“What a great night for #FreeGuy. And what a great night for @blakelively because this means we’re Instagram official,” she captioned an Instagram photo from the big night. “I know how big of a deal that was for her.”

As for the couple’s stunning looks for that particular night, Blake opted for a gorgeous bubblegum pink cut-out dress by Prabal Gurung, while Ryan decided to don a corduroy suit by Brunello Cucinelli, paired with a checked shirt and tan loafers.

In the upcoming film, Ryan plays a character living his everyday life before a mysterious character awakens him to the video game world he’s been living in.

And according to Blake, it’s a must-see, no ifs, ands or buts!

Birthday contest

Blake pushed Ryan to step up his game for her upcoming birthday after he created a fully produced music video for friend  Rob McElhenney ’s big day  in April 2023. “You put so much effort into this,” he wrote on social media. “Can’t wait for August 25th.”

The actress poked fun at her husband as he attended a particularly exciting match of his football team, Wrexham AFC. The Welsh football club, which he co-owns, played against Sheffield United during the fourth round of the FA Cup.

“I bought espn+ today,” Blake wrote on her Instagram story. “Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live. Totally worth it.”

A creepy post

Blake had a question for her husband Ryan, brother-in-law  Terry Reynolds  and sister  Robyn Lively  : “How come no one took the time to mention to me that this is what my hair looked like today?”

Straight to the couch

In an ad for his company Mint Mobile, Ryan asked Blake to appear and talk about the brand’s family plan. However, a substitute for the actress appeared instead.

As Lively joked on Instagram in July 2022: “Honey, if you were paid more, you could afford me. Sorry, your real wife.” And when he claimed she was “revolutionizing the category,” she replied: “@vancityreynolds my love, feel free to revolutionize the couch when you sleep on it tonight!”

It’s time for a sabbatical

When Ryan announced he was planning to take a “little break from filmmaking,” Blake commented, “  Michael Caine  did it first,” referring to an interview in which The  Dark Knight actor  hinted that he had filmed his last movie. Ryan later clarified that he has not retired from acting.

Birthday jokes

In true Ryan fashion, he poked fun at his wife on her 34th birthday by dissing her on Instagram. Instead of sharing a sweet tribute to mark the occasion, he cheekily praised Mariah   Carey  and joked on Instagram Stories: “My favorite thing that ever happened on August 25th.”

In April 2021, Blake joked with Ryan while wishing her friend  Gigi Hadid   a happy 26th birthday, writing on Instagram alongside a photo of her sitting between the two, “I think you and I make a much better couple.”

Vaxxed

The husband and wife received their COVID-19 vaccinations in March 2021 and took the opportunity to poke fun at each other. Ryan wore a beanie while receiving the vaccine and polled fans on who looked better in the beanie, him or his life while filming his 2020 movie  The Rhythm Section  .

Blake later took a subtle dig at the actor, sharing a photo of herself getting vaccinated and writing, “Find someone who looks at you the way I look at the heroic nurse who vaccinates me.”

Green Lantern Discovery 

In March 2021, Ryan watched his 2011 film  Green Lantern  , starring Blake, and tweeted, “I only read my parts of the script so seeing this makes me really excited.” He later wrote, “Hey @BlakeLively is in this movie!”

He also shared a photo of himself taking a photo of the screen, which shows a scene with him and Blake. The actor, who has four children with his wife, wrote: “This did not bode badly for my life as a father.”

He couldn’t help it

In December 2020, after seeing a video on Frida Mom’s Instagram page advising new moms on “what the f— to avoid” after giving birth, Ryan couldn’t help but mention Blake, commenting, “I would tag @blakelively but I’m afraid that might not turn out well for me.”

Only desserts

Also in December 2020, Blake shared four of his “favourite things in the world” about Vancouver on his Instagram Story – desserts galore.

Blake, whose husband was born in the Canadian city, joked with her followers: “… Who did you think I was going to say?” However, she did give a subtle nod to her superhero with a GIF of Deadpool in the corner.

OOTO Problems

In August 2020, after it was reported that Ryan had sold his spirits company Aviation American Gin for $610 million, he celebrated the only way he knew how: He wrote a sarcastic “Out of Office” email addressed to his wife,  Dwayne Johnson  ,  Betty White  , AMC Theaters, Total Wine, and TGI Friday’s, among others, in an apology email.

“I just learned what a ‘deferred gain’ is… And I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone I told to fuck off in the last 24 hours,” he wrote. “The point is, to those listed below, I say I’m sorry… and I will, in fact, need your help in the months and years ahead.”

Another baby?

When Ryan posted a promotional photo of his gin company in July 2020, Blake, who is an understanding wife, commented: “I think this just made me pregnant.”

But fans were left disappointed when her husband quickly responded with an “out of office” message. “I will be out of the office starting July 22nd and continuing through mid-August,” his message read. “If you need immediate assistance during my absence, please reach out to someone. Anyone. Otherwise, I will respond to your message as soon as possible upon my unlikely return. Thank you.”

A double troll

The initial post: In April 2020, Blake poked fun at Ryan’s quarantine hairstyle, posting a photo of his baby bun on Instagram Stories. “I dare you to forget this every time you see him for the rest of eternity,” she joked in her caption.

The Counter Post: The  Deadpool star  shared the image on his own Instagram Stories, writing: “Clearly your birth control isn’t working so…”

Swiping to the right

When Ryan praised his trainer  Don Saladino for his at-home workouts, Blake naturally  took the opportunity to poke fun at the post, noting that the fitness pro’s shirtless promotion felt very Tinder-esque.

Reposting the original story on her account, she responded: “@vancityreynolds I keep swiping right. This isn’t working,” adding: “Oh… swipe UP.”

Let’s never forget when Ryan decided to celebrate her big day in 2019 by posting not one, not two, but  10   unflattering photos of herself in an Instagram carousel… some of which we’ll now be reposting, obviously.

For her 2017 birthday, Ryan decided to go all out, posting a glamorous photo of the couple from the 2014 Met Gala in tribute to Blake on Instagram… except for the fact that he cropped her out of the photo. “Happy birthday to my amazing wife,” he wrote.

May the best Ryan win

Blake returned the favor on Ryan’s 41st birthday in 2017, and her husband even admitted how “amazing” her Instagram post was. “Happy birthday babe,” he wrote alongside a photo of  Ryan Gosling  with his cropped Ryan at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

A simple request

While promoting  A Simple Favor  , Blake had to deal with Ryan tweeting spoilers about what happened to his missing character. “You can tell me. We’re married,” she wrote. “You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So…what the hell happened to Emily?”

In response, Blake tweeted: “Oh baby, of all the secrets I’m keeping from you, this should be the LEAST of your worries… trust me.”

After Blake gifted Ryan an original Danny Galieote painting, the  Buried actor  posted a heartfelt thank you, almost without making any jokes. “This piece of art is the best gift my wife has ever given me,” he wrote. “If there is ever a fire, I will get it first. I will be back for Blake.”

In 2019, drinks experts VinePair ranked Aviation Gin as one of the best celebrity spirits, so Ryan did what anyone else would do: he posted about the accomplishment on social media. A lot. Which led to Blake mocking him.

“My husband is not calm at all,” she wrote on her Instagram story, showing her followers that Ryan wasted no time in highlighting her brand’s ranking. “… Literally 37 minutes later.”

He also shared a screenshot of Aviation Gin’s Instagram account, which posted the original VinePair article and the brand’s review. He sarcastically wrote: “…In case you missed it?”

Planning your escape

When divorce rumors surfaced in 2018, Ryan used his Aviation Gin out-of-office email to poke fun at the reports. Ryan posted his schedule and dedicated much of his Monday to the gym, tanning, and laundry, and that evening he attended a screening of Blake’s film,  A Simple Favor  . The planner noted, “No divorce jokes!!”

However, an hour later, he decided to “escape from the MoMA screening to compose himself. It can’t all be about you. This is his moment. Pull yourself together, moron.”
In March 2018, a report claimed that the couple had been struggling to spend quality time together because they were both busy working. Ryan, never one to shy away from publicly debunking a rumour, retweeted the story and wrote: “Wish I could squeeze in a little ‘me time.’”

Three’s company

In June 2018, Blake posted a poster for her film  A Simple Favor  featuring co-star  Anna Kendrick  and wrote, “@annakendrick47 is the sexiest female version of my husband… so would that really count as cheating?”

Of course, Ryan also chimed in: “The most ambitious crossover event ever,” he joked. “I’ll miss you both. Tell me my story.”
